Volunteering Opportunities
Interested in volunteering your time, talents, or skills to help out the BCCNS
Life Support Network? We can always use help in the following areas:
- Submitting articles of interest for the Quarterly Advocate
- If you live in our geographical area, assisting with mailings
- Attending and working our Annual Reverse Raffle Fundraiser
- Reaching out to other members and providing support in the form of e-mails,
phone calls, and written letters or cards
- Soliciting support from your medical professionals
- Writing grant applications
Community Fundraising
You can help raise funds for the BCCNS Life Support Network by hosting local events in your
own neighborhood. Take a look at these examples:
Jingle Bells for Basal Cells: A 5K run
hosted in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on December 5, 2009. This might become an annual event, so keep your
eyes peeled!
Addie's Famous Banana Bread: Inspired by the 5K run, Addie Edwards of Ohio (left) and her mother Amy have
started selling Addie's special-recipe banana bread at local craft shows and events, with the proceeds benefiting
the Network.
If these ideas have given you ideas for events of your own, feel free to let us know,
and we'll do our best to help you coordinate things.
